7" X 7" Wedding gift Explosion Box

Hi all,

It's been a long time since I shared anything on my blog. I was on a impromptu vacation. Vacations are always fun. We get to spend valuable time with our family and beloved once. Now I am back to my routine and I am loving it.

Today, I am very excited to share my new creation, 7" X 7" explosion box.  This was a little challenging art project for me but I am overwhelmed to see the final product. Currently, I am working on instructions video on this project and will share with you all as soon as I get done with it.

Here is a overview of my Explosion Box:

It is a 7" X 7" box enclosed with 2 layers of boxes. It holds more than 40 6" X 4" photos and 4 of 5" X 7" photos. I used "Tales of you and me" cardstock collection from Prima. One of the exquisitely beautiful collection by Prima. Also, I used my handmade paper flowers and decorated stick pins to embellish this box. If you need instruction video on my handmade flowers then please let me know.

I hope you enjoyed watching the tutorial!

Let me know if you have any question.

Love

Altered wine bottles

Hi all,

Happy Friday!!!

I always like to store empty wine bottles. But getting rid of some bottles was must when my attic got overloaded with these bottles. My creative mind got on the wheel and started thinking about altering some bottles into something useful. I came across some of the altered wine bottle images online. With the help of these images my new project started.

Steps to follow:

1. Soak the wine bottles in a warm water to get rid of all labels and stickers attached on bottle.
2. Clean the exterior of bottles with soap water and then let it dry.
3. Use acrylic colors to paint the surface of bottles.
4. Apply 1st coat of paint and let it dry
6. After drying if you think that color is not coating the surface evenly then apply 2nd coat.
7. Generally after 2nd coat the bottles surface get coated evenly with the paint.
8. Apply mod-podge to protect the color from getting fade or dust accumulation and it also gives glossy texture to the bottle surface.
9. For 2 bottles I used burlap ribbon and painted stripes using acrylic color.
10. Generally, I like to make my own flowers but I had some leftover flowers from Michael's which I used to decorate these bottles.
11. You can decorate the bottles with any embellishments as per your choice.

Hope you all will like making them!!!

Lantern altered into Bird cage

Hi all,

Here, I am sharing my 1st mixed media altered project today.

One of my friend gifted me a lantern and it was sitting near my door way for many days. One day a thought came in my mind that why not decorate the lantern with some embellishments. I started browsing through net and while searching online I came across some paper flower making tutorials and, they were very interesting. In couple of days, I made many cardstock flowers of different shapes and colors. I started decorating my lantern with these flowers and crotchet lace.

At the end, I was so amazed to see the final product. And now, I can't wait to display the pictures of my beautiful altered bird cage.

I hope you all will enjoy it!!!!

Happy Friday!!!!
